Welcome to Jigsaws Galore! Here are some useful tips to get you started. When you've become familiar with the game you can switch to "Expert" tips. Press the right pointing button for more beginner's tips.
First of all, give yourself some more room by maximizing the window. Double-click the "Jigsaws Galore" title bar now!
Click right on an empty part of the background for the board popup menu. Try some of the menu features now, such as arranging the pieces around the edge of the board, or changing the piece size.
Move pieces around by clicking on them with the left mouse button and dragging with the button held down.
You can drag any number of pieces onto a tray for extra workspace. You can resize trays and create as many new ones as you like using the toolbar button or Main Menu.
Click right on an empty part of a tray for the tray popup menu. Try some of the tray features now. See the online help under "trays" for more on working with trays.
If you don't want trays, minimize them by clicking on the tray's minimize button or the tray's icon on the tray bar below. You can also click right on a tray icon for a partial popup menu.
Both the main toolbar and the traybar can be moved around to any of the four edges of the board. This can give you more room for tall jigsaws. Try it now!
Groups of loose pieces can be "grabbed" using a rubber band box. Hold down the left mouse button over an empty area and drag to capture loose pieces. Then drag any selected piece to move them all.
Click right on a piece for the piece popup menu. The rotation commands are grayed-out until you enable "Rotation" in the main Options menu. Rotating pieces makes solving the puzzle much harder.
Try some of the cheat functions by clicking right on a piece, such as "Show neighbor" and "Fetch neighbor". Also, try the Auto-Solve feature in the main Cheat menu.
That should be enough to get you started. There are lots more fun features to try out and don't forget to read the "Frequently asked questions" in the main help menu. Have fun!
Click on the "Expert" button for advanced tips. You might want to wait until you've become familiar with the basic game before looking at these.
